She just doesn't get it

I am now totally convinced that she will NEVER get it.
There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works.

Stock Forester XT, owned by an acquaintance of mine, did consistent mid-13's at a midwestern dragstrip... That's enough to beat any stock L98 and most stock LT1's, I think...

Next year's Legacy GT should be even faster, and a couple of the not-for-US models will embarrass a C5 (low 4's 0-60, for example). Less power, but less weight and awesome hookup.

I too would rather drive my early C4, but if there's rain, snow, or more than two people to haul you're kinda in a bind.

Oh, there WAS supposed to be a smiley on my last post; for some reason it didn't show.

HEY!!! Watch your tone, young man! I've got TWO Subarus, and had to sell a third when I got the Vette. And the right one (Forester XT or '05 Legacy GT) is both practical AND a match for most C4's...

Ouch. My nose.

I disagree, but I won't flame you back. Think what you like.

Peace.

PS: Btw, I said that 'Point A to Point B' people are drawn to Subarus. I didn't say all Subarus are for 'Point A to Point B' people. There's a difference.

My sweet wife. Know what she said just this evening?...........

"Hey, think its about time to get the vette out for the summer?" Gawd, she HATES motorcycles though, and I drool at their sight. Who said it's a "give-and-take thing"? Right you are.

My wife understands how I feel about my vette. She does not complain or ask me to sell it but she does not like riding low (and she REALLY does not like cornering like I do) so she does not ride with me often.

I ride alone - oh well, it's just that much faster that way.:D

Just thinking about that Potterybarn line... Do this, drive the Vette to the Potterybarn, now you're in the Vette your happy, she's getting to go to the Potterybarn, she's happy, and due to the limited space in the Vette v.s. say a pickup or van, the total purchase volumn will have to be less.

Now the only thing you have to listen to is how she couldn't buy that huge piece of ugly pottery (that you didn't like anyway) because it wouldn't fit in the Vette. :L ;)

I don't even agree with THAT statement... "Point A to Point B" people buy Escorts and Taurii and Camrys and Accords and Exploders. Cars without souls. Perhaps you misunderstand the Subaru mystique! :) Remember, Subarus are quirky by nature because of their AWD and flat engine layout - not something a "normal" person cares about. A different analogy - Subaru people are Macintosh people, A-B people are PC people. And I'm opening a HUGE can of worms with that statement, I know...

I'm a Democrat, and I own a Macintosh...Let the flames begin :D

:L :L OK.... So with the Mac you probably have to have programs that emulate MS Windows or something to that effect so those PC programs will run right?

;LOL And as a proclaimed Democrat don't you have to have programs that emulate socialism programs so those PC correct programs will work?

Just a light hearted thought instead of serious flameing... it all fell together so well ;) :L

I guess I more luckier than most, my wife is just as stoked as I am about the vette, I love her!!:cu

Ok... THAT was funny!

I would expect a majority of Vette owners to be Mac (or Linux) users - the idea being that a tool can be more than a tool. It's a mindset. FWIW, the vast majority of Subaru owners I know are Mac and Linux users (and no, they're NOT tree huggers).

Also FWIW, I've owned PC emulator programs since I got my first Mac in 1990; however, I've stopped using them because 99% of what I need now is native, and the other 1% are games that are too intensive for the emulator (I do have a PC on my desk as well, but it's pretty much strictly for the few games that I play that aren't Mac-native).

And I think we've (ok, I'VE) effectively hijacked this thread... On a more related note, I was explaining to my (understanding, does get it) wife tonight that my new short block has been built and shipped, and her only concerns were not about the cost or time I've spent on the car, but whether I'd made a good choice going with someone from off the 'net, and how long until the car would be back on the road...
