Okay, you may not remember me, but do a bit of thread searching and you'll find my car.
My nice little '84 'Vette runs again. I took it to a mechanic who, for $45, told me that what was wrong with it was:
Both ?IAVCs? (can't remember if that's the correct thing or not)
The TPS
Both Injectors
The PCV valve
(and after I fixed these, I noticed the Fuel Pressure regulator was bad and took it upon myself to replace both of them)
After replacing these parts, it would not run.
So we fiddled with the TPS as I didn't mark it's location before I removed it (DOH!) and now it runs. She still runs a bit rough, but is running well enough to be driven slightly, not yet road worthy. My dad believes that either the TPS is still slightly off, or that maybe since it was running so terribly before, the mechanic couldn't set the timing just right.
What is your guys opinion from the information I have given?
If any more information is requested, I will do my best to figure it out asap. Also, plan on taking a video of it in it's current running state to possibly help you guys in diagnosing it. But at worse, it may just come to another $45 trip to my mechanic because I don't want to be ran around my car looking for vacuum leaks for another two weeks when it appears that wasn't the problem.
Thanks all. Look forward to hearing from you.
