Anyone know how to install the shift knob on an automatic? Again, not mentioned in Haynes.

The button will pop out by taking a tweeker (really small flathead screwdriver) or similar device a gently prying it up from the leather knob. Do this on the front or back side. Be careful not to scratch it or tear the leather.

If I remember correctly there is only a snap ring holding the knob to the shifter. Once that is off, the knob just slides off.

I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it. I'm too lazy this evening to go out to the garage and check.:)

Yep that's it. Make sure that the tips on your snap ring pliers are good and tight, I lost one down in the shifter taking the snap ring out:W :rotfl .

Also, I found mine was easier to do when I dropped the shifter into low. You get a better look inside.
