Had a Hurst short throw shifter installed in my 2003 C5. Works great....except I get a vibration in the shifter and excessive noise through the channel now that the stock shifter rubber gasket is no longer there (won't work with a after market shifter. Have heard about using stick on wheel wights and a product called Dynamat for noise reduction. Anyone had this problem and come up with a good fix?

The rubber gasket WILL fit with Hurst, and I recommend it.

Also, if you are contemplating a shift knob change - go that route first. The weight change with a different knob will change the harmonics of the mechanism.

Otherwise, tacking on weights or other materials to the shaft will accompish the same thing, but seems a little "rigged" to me.
