Does your back window look as good as it does in this picture tinted? I have seen some of them done and yet to find any that suits me. This back window has to be a bear to do right. Was it tinted over the matrix dots or just below that? Did it seal around the heated back glass lines in the glass real good? I want to get mine down but I am a little leary!

Thanks,
Bill :w

Yes, 1. piece too. But the dot-matrix is covered, by the tint however tinting ain't a perfect art, but it will do

Looks good, but most of them do until you get to looking at them close. I was told to skip the dot-matrix area because it impossible to make look right, always a foggy area somewhere. That back window has to be a real trip to do anyway! I see your from Evansville, you sure don't have far to go to the Cruise Fest in June do you? Are you going to make it this year?

Some people light sand the dots, I didnt, the area there is hazy, just a little, the rest of the glass is perfect, it doesnt look bad enuff to me to re-do it, I can live with it............no plans yet on cruise....

I've heard of lightly sanding the dots, but that sounds like a lot of work! I have heard of just tinting below this area have you? I've also heard of spray painting this area black.:confused I haven't seen any done this way, seems to me like it would like kind of dorky the painting and not tinting this area! Anyway I would like to get mine done; there is a place that does a good job in Fort Wayne that I may stop and ask them about it.

Take care,
Bill :w

Bill, I dont think tinting below the dots, would work because the rest of the glass would be miss-matched. My shop has done at least 30 of my cars over the years, a lot of the C5's here has this area of the car not looking too good, my tint guy has done a bunch of c5's and he said this is common on these cars, plus Camaro's have the same result, looked at one today that way.....I would discuss this w/ any shop up there and see what they say...As far as my car, I was ignorant as to the effect of the dots, and mine really doesnt look bad enuff to re-do..if I wanted to do it again, they would ,but anytime you take off tint you risk ruining the factory defogger grid, so my solution is Im not worried about it. The car looks fine to me, and it will be a show baby, when spring gets here..Jesse

I hear what your saying, I am just too gun-shy to try I guess. I know the tint doesn't do too well over the dots that is why I have held off, I as well thought doing below them would look odd; or even painting it would create problems later. Paint on glass usually doesn't last! :( I am going to talk to this place in Fort Wayne I think next week sometime. I guess it is one of those things you have to deal with, uh?

Later Gator,

This is my first time trying this, so I hope it works. Mine is a 99 coupe with 43K miles. It's pretty clean for a 99 with typical wear. I have added a Blackwing and am planning on putting on a Corsa muffler system in the spring...can't wait to hear that!

Good looking ride TribeFan94, what is a Blackwing, is that a rear spoiler? I have a 2000 Coupe that has a few stone chips on the front, really not bad enough to paint, hate to loose the factory paint I guess, but may touch it up one day in this area. I bought one to drive, so these things are going to happen. Wish the original owner has used a bra on the front, but again if your going to drive them this stuff happens. Just wished I lived where I can drive it pretty much year around!

Here are two of mine...

Here's my Blue Z06, and the red convertable I used to own on the left. Used to own a C4, which looked simular to the one on the right.

Nope, it's an intake. Looks like this:

Hey Rain! Guilty as charged! What can I say? The beach is a great place for pictures! I came across some good ones of your Black Beauty at the beach on another thread recently too.

You're right about the photos not being taken this week... we haven't had weather that pretty in a week or so - the last time we had a gorgeous day like that I was working.

Just wanted to post a pic of my car other than the one taken at the dealership that I put in this thread earlier.

See ya!

What a great color combination: Silver on Black. Very sleek looking. Just don't go picking up any Oakland Raiders fans. :D

Steve, very nice ride you have. Welcome to the CAC, by the way!
