Silver Lacquer

Hi!



A body shop gave me a gallon of Sherwin Williams Acrylic Lacquer. I have been trying to track down what GM car this would have been applied on. The can has the following information: SW Number: L11A 3378, color: Silver Met, Car G.M., year usage is blank and Color code: 15.



I have the chassis complete and rolling, the 270HP engine is at the machine shop, and the chrome should be done in a couple weeks. I have a gallon of PPG Sateen Silver lacquer, but would like to use the Sherwin Willams as a base coat to insure I do not run out of paint.

I'm not a painter, but I woudn't recommend two different manufacturer's products on top of each other - could be a compatibility problem down the road. My painter says the cardinal rule is to use all applied products from the same system/same manufacturer.

That has always been my experience, John. I've run into compatibility problems in the past, even on things as basic as interior pieces.

Good advice.
