While putting our vette back together I noticed the passenger seatbelt no longer retracts and holds properly. I wasn't expecting to have to replace them but now is a good time to replace them.
Looking around, I see a dual and a single retractor. currently it has the dual retractors but I am not really a big fan (of the design and price).
Are the single retractor belts compatible with the mounting points of the dual retractor setup?

Cheep Seats Belts!

If you do a search you'll find some posts on how old Camaro rear seat belts can be used. Junk yard=save money. PG.:beer

You can always buy a new "old Camaro" seatbelt. They are available and are much cheaper.

Frankly,

I would not risk this task even to myself. You'll never know if you, or worse, a loved one would be sitting on the passenger side, and the seat belt failed during a colision...:nono;shrug

I recommend you send the seat belt to sSnake-Oyl ( Ssnake Oyl Products), and let them restore your seat belts. I believe that they cannot replace the old worn-out labels on your seat belts, but they will gladly re-stitch the old labels on new webbing, and they will also replace the hardware (I had a popped spring that never worked as stock)..

I had my driver's side seat belt restored by them, and it was like new (except again for the re-stitched factory label).

They even sent me two samples of webbing to make sure I selected the correct one that matched my seat belt (as far as the grain and color).

I believe that at the time I paid approximately $135.00 dollars after everything was set and done for one seat belt assembly, and this was much cheaper than buying an NOS set at $650 dollars. :thumb

I would rather have something that is safe and we aren't worried about numbers matching or totally original parts. I found some reproductions for $450 for the duals and $299 for the single. I like the price of the singles and want to make sure they would work.
I'll look into snake oil but one of the local restorers said they might be too high with all the work mine will need :)
