I think that's what you think it means. It sure isn't what it shows. Don't be ashamed. These days it's more than ok to express your (obvious) hunger for a man. I don't go that way, but I think there are some members on this site who will be in touch with you shortly.
I admire the way you went fishing by using this "I got screwed on EBay" thing.
I know what Steve is saying, I don't care for it. But, that's the way it is today. That's why I do ebay just like any auction....Set a price I can live with and if I get it for that price or less, great! If not that's OK I guess I didn't want it that bad. But I used to sit there and wait and try to put my bids in late, bid multiple times near the end...screw it I'll place one bid, the maximum I am willing to pay and forget it. Steve, I know what you are saying and sympathize with you, we got to get into the "here and now", I guess.
Bid what your'e willing to pay. We all wanna save what we can----or we wouldn't be here. It sucks gettin' beat, but more times than not you can get what you want for a decent price. Capitalism lives! For now, and hopefully for a long long time to come. Sorry you didn't win Steve, there'll be another chance :bang
Myself, I'm one of the "f' you snipers" you're referring to... I set a maximum price that I'm willing to pay and if it's not enough... oh well, somebody else gets it...period. Just because somebody snipes DOES NOT mean they're getting it cheaper, etc. etc. The excuse of "just be there" doesn't wash either as eBay's bidding system is set up as auto-proxy bidding. I have a business to run and don't have time to be in front of my computer at auction's end 98% of the time. Sniping software fills that need. As stated before... you want an item, bid up to it or lose out.
So many of you think that a computerized application that waits until seconds before an auction is over and than places an automated bid for pennies more than the prevous bid is nothing more than free enterprise? Maybe we should all use the Sniper method, than evey auction would spirial up at the last minute.
Its funny how many folks here can remember specs about cars built 30 years ago, but I guess no body here can remember what happened in 1987 to the New York Stock Excahange when computerized trading programs took over.
It just really p's me off. I guess I'm just "old school" and believe that things should be fair. And that if you're out partying or whatever, you shouldn't be able to get an item. If you're too busy doing something else, then you should loose.
I'm not sure how you see it as not fair. If I'm going to be somewhere else and I want an item I set up my snipe ahead of time. I put in my maximum price and I win or lose based on how that comes out relative to everyone else's price, just like you.
Why the hell are you whining? It's because you lost, not because of HOW you lost.
I'm really getting sick of the "If I can find a point to argue" attitude, no matter what it is, it's not even funny any more. This "used" to be a place where WE could gather and be supportive of each other, no matter what. Here we have a member feeling a bit down for reasoning I can relate to, right or wrong and the membership chooses to bust his balls and tell him to suck it up. Another perfect example of why I don't go to or post in the Edge, I wouldn't have any friends here............HMMMmmmmmm............Some of the post's including the reference to being "hungry" for certain things and it being more than OK would cause me to to make it a point to "introduce" myself at a gathering in person, not hiding behind a keyboard and that is all I'll say on this matter. Steve, best of luck to you and with almost 100 positive feedbacks in MY account, I'll do things MY way, without a snipe
It's not fun being sniped. We've all been there and experienced the anger, it's like being cut off by a BMW. But you know what, you shrug and move on. Life is too short, there are plenty of other manuals out there.
