Snow Sucks

One month into winter in central PA, and still no snow.
Without winter, summer would seem like nothing special. If the sun shone every day, we'd be complaining how our interiors were all fading! I'd much rather shovel snow than cut grass, because my side walk isn't nearly as big as my yard, and I've never had to shovel it when it was 95 degrees out. I know you guys down south won't understand this, but winter is refreshing! I never really got that whole 'winter is so depressing' thing. Snow makes a great sound deadener, things are quieter. It makes a great excuse for being late for work! (not that I ever need one) You can plow snow out of your way, but water can take your house with it.
It sure is an odd winter tho, with places that rarely ever get snow getting pounded, and places like Denver getting burried - while the northeast is still relatively dry. They keep showing on the news how the ski slopes are trying to make snow, then it gets warm again, delaying their opening. Gotta feel bad for people losing money because of GOOD weather!
Just my opinion.

Less not also forget that the snow in the parking lots, also gives young drivers the opportunity to practice their sliding skills. (God forbid that they really have to use it in an emergency )

....and folks over here in Maryland (mostly the media --- and the kids) have been complaining that we haven't had any snow yet this season... strange winter so far.

.

Ooops spoke too soon. We got some snow today... only an inch, but then changed to freezing rain.

BRRRRRR 4:30 am Wednesday. 9 degrees and light snow. Starting to pile up pretty good .;help

Here in colorado this winter has been one of the worst, and thats saying alot here in colorado. At my house in the mountains there has been around 90+ inchs this year

I hear you, MacVette69.

So far for this winter, and not counting a storm we had back in October, here in Parker, our snow totals look like this:

December 20-21: 36 inches
December 28-29: 18 inches
January 5: 12 inches
January 13: 8 inches
January 21: 12 inches
5 week total: 86 inches

As a point of reference, the normal annual (yes, annual- over a 12 month period) snowfall for the Denver metro area is 62 inches. In five weeks, we've exceeded our normal annual total by two feet.

And the forecast for Saturday is... anyone want to guess? :ugh

Yazoo it Sat. Don't have to work in the snow today. Drive a log truck for a living and things can get kinda crappie out in the woods with the log truck. Going to sit in the house and watch it snow from in here today. Not to cold today like it has been 27 right now. High this past thursday was 9.

Life is ironic; all the years that I had to shovel snow growing up I cursed it now that I live down south I miss the crap out of it.

Alright, everyone... I'm reviving this thread!

Today is just a mere three days prior to my namesake Saint's day. It was 72 degrees here yesterday. It was 68 degrees today. And even though we're supposed to get some precip tonight... because it will still be in the mid-fifites tomorrow, the form it will take will be RAIN! No More Snow! :)

Winter, I am delighted to report, is OVER here in Colorado. Done. Dead. (In fact, if it were still alive, I'd shoot it.) And it ain't gettin' missed, either! ;)

So, I want you all to start making your plans to come to CruiseFest this June here in Colorado. It will be absolutely breath-takingly beautiful here in late June, and you ain't seen nothin' until you've seen the Colorado Rockies from your Corvette.

Start HERE, get your registration form done, and make sure you book your room at the Silverwood, too!

Get yourselves set- Summer is coming, and it's gonna be cool! :cool

Still snow here in northern Michigan. Down to around 8 inches on the ground. High today in the low 30's. Maybe next week spring will have sprung. Can't wait to get the cars out and play. Dave :w

Not Over Yet

We've got a foot coming tonight and tomorrow, maybe more, they upgrade it every few hours. :crazy

We finally got rid of all our snow, now they're calling for a nor'easter tonight and tomorrow. :puke

were looking at UP TO 2 FEET!!!!!!:mad :mad :ugh

So far all slushy, freezy crap.. We had 70 degrees 2 days ago.. Wtf ? :mad

I guess we are lucky in Ohio its nice but chilly and I've been driving mine, the job is slow we have a bunch on lay-off and have been working only 4 days. I wouldn't mind it in the summer. :D

I will miss seeing the bare ground. All of the snow(2 Ft.) melted in 3 days this week with 65 degree days. It was really nice to go outside in a T-shirt to pick up all the trash that had been under the snow. 23'F right now. They're calling for 4-8" starting tonight through St. Patty's day. I'm glad the snowblower is still by the door.:) My friend is running a marathon tomorrow. I hope he has snow shoes, 'cause it's gonna be sloppy! Erin go Slush!

We're getting a freak storm, and it's snowing like crazy right now...
:ugh
