So am I the only person that thinks the new Vette is very Ferrari-ish?

I've looked at tons of pictures from various angles and I just can't seem to shake the idea that the front end looks like it rolled off of a Ferrari production line. Not that I don't like the new c6. I do, quite a good bit. But I'll never buy one until Gm pulls their head out of their a** and designs a high-quality, highly-functional interior to match the price tag. But then again I've always put ALOT of value on the interior. I mean crazy me, right? I mean its not like you spend every second inside the car, not sitting on the hood and staring. Me and my crazy ideas.

Out of curiosity, how do you define a "high-quality, highly-functional interior to match the price tag", when you've only seen pictures and never sat in a C6 Corvette?

The C6 has a very slight resemblance to a Ferrari in the front end, but it is ever so slight. I love and admire Ferraris, so it's a bonus in my book.

I'm definetly not saying that the Ferrari resemblance is a bad thing. Nonsense. I think it looks bloody great from the front. Back isn't bad but a little too, imported? I think thats the word I'm looking for. Then again I never really cared for the quad circle set-up to begin with.

As far as the interior goes, I only have pics to go by and from what I've seen, I don't like. But I have sat in every vette that came before it and drove all but c1 and I just haven't liked the interior of a vette since early c3. That is just my personal opinion. I doubt you'd like the interior of my car. No harm no foul.

I think that there is a very simple answer for the people who wonder about an upgraded interior. Would you like the car to cost $90,000? The Corvette, most especially the last 3 generations, has been a car that very clearly answers one important question: Do you want a $45,000 car that performs like a $90,000 car or do you want an interior that looks like $90,000 without the great performance? Unfortunately, no one, not even Chevy, can make a car that runs with Ferraris, Vipers and Porsches and also has an interior just as plush. If you want to run with exotics at the price of a Tahoe, this is the trade-off. If you want a nice inetrior, buy an Mercedes Benz SLK with half the horsepower and run with a Mustang.

Alrighty. I drive an 03 Audi TT. Its my baby. I take sweet loving care of that car. Now this particular model runs at a 37,000 sticker. Thats a big honkey difference in price between it and a vette. And I still get heated leather seats, xenon headlamps, full security, tiptronic tranny, steering wheel paddle shifters, back-lit gauges, and a very peppy little 1.8t motor. The composits they use in the door panels and dash are known throughout the automotive press as some of the best in the bussiness. Now that the money difference in my car and a new vette. Not c6, c5. Give that money and my tt to AMD and they will hand it back to you with 450 Hp 490 Ft/Lbs and all the creature comforts you had before with about 1,500 USD to spare. GM just doesn't respect its customers and until you all get together and start complaining it isn't going to improve. You CAN get more out of those beefy v-8s at the factory if they'd just try. But they don't care. They figure lets boost the displacment by 100 Cubes or slap on a supercharger and then ram that down our loyal vett lovers. Now honestly, this practice disgusts me. You guys deserve more, especially for what you pay. Go spend 60,000 at Audi. For far less than 60k you can drive off in an S4. And if you keep up on your autos you bloody well know what an s4 is.

Hey, they gotta cut costs somewhere on the car right?:L:L:L I don't know, interior looks haven't been a big issue to me. I'm one of those types who is more concerned about functionality. I know that Vette's do get bashed because of their interiors. Quite frankly, I don't care because if it works, it's good enough for me.

I know what an S4 is, and I love the car. Unfortunately, they are about the same price as a z06 and a second slower to 60 and thru the qtr. They also won't handle with a z06, or a coupe for that matter. And I am talking about the c5's performance, the people lucky enought to get a c6 probably wouldn't waste the gas racing an s4.
As for the aftermarket tuners, you can send any car in the world to an aftermarket tuner and have them make it faster. It isn't necessarily a better car and you wouldn't want to put a 100k miles on the thing, but it will be faster.

Honkey???

I don't see a resemblance at all, but then I know nothing about Ferraris. Of course, design elements are liberally borrowed across car companies and have been for years, case in point everyone wanted fins in the 50s so that's what they got. That said, I see elements of many other car models in the C6: the nsx, the miata, the 3000gt, the rx8, the viper. I don't really care though, it is a Corvette and that's all that matters.

About the interior, there is only so much that gm can do to balance costs so that the car is still barely affordable for a lot of people. If you mean "high quality" as in every single inch of the interior is covered in hand-stitched leather, then tack on another $4,000 to the price of the car.

As for "functional interior", what more could you want? Maybe you'd be happier in a mercedes.
