my breaks dont seem that great... im going to replace pads next paycheck..
but should i flush me break system??
will doing that help any
thanks

What do you mean by soft? Do you have a lot of pedal travel or does the pedal go away when sitting at a light? Travel would relate to worn pads. The pedal going away would most likely be the master cyl.Flushing the brake system is a good idea if you don't know when or if ever it was done.

Start with a quart! You may need less however, if your system is really dirty it may take more. I will recommend Valvoline synpower dot 3 & 4 brake fluid.
On another note if your power steering has the morning moans; a flush with synpower power steering fluid has been known to stop the moan.

I am not sure that a flush will fix a soft pedal, have you checked for leaks and ballooning brake hoses?
Good luck!

Hard brakes??????????

Hi

My brakes are hard, when l have to stop l have to apply pressure.

When l changed my pads the tech said that l will have to hit the brakes hard when going at least 60 mph.

Does this make any sense?

In 1995 the 13inch J55 brakes became standard and the J55 package offers decent braking. My question is how much pressure do you have to apply? If its an excessive amount, I would check to see if the power brake booster working.

When you go to change the pads and maybe the calipers,, put quick bleeders in place of the regular bleeders....they can be bought from most auto stores for about $12.00 a pair.... they make it easy to bleed the brakes..
also check for rub marks on the flexible brake lines ..
I hope this helps
