I think the explanation is obvious. Look for these pics to appear in upcoming issues of MT, R&D, or C&D. I'm glad the guys got some $$$ and we were able to get some screen time with the shots months before they hit the news stands. IMO

I think it will look simular, but GM will make some changes. Looks a lot like a C5. I don't mind though.

I met Dave Hill last weekend. He hung out with us in the hotel parking lot for hours upon hours. He drove his 2004 Vette down to BG from Michigan just to hang with us.
He got a kick out of all the questions asked about the C6 - and he enjoyed answering the questions without revealing anything.
It was a riot!

He did mention that people should be very pleased with the radio going in the C6.

Oh...and the Carbon Fibre hood on the 2004 is sweeeet.

Naw..........:L the Caddy line and the Vette line are at least a good 30 feet apart at their closest point!

I've no problem with the $76K 2 seater Caddy being built there in the same plant as the $43-53K Corvette.....
The Vette will be faster.....Caddy next....then maybe a 'special' Impala.

sure would be nice if they'd get rid of that blasted Mopar Blue
band around the top of the entire building though!!!

Orders and demand changed that number to 11.5K
15% over the plan.

Like Cfour I, and many vette lovers were disappointed with the 50th Ann.Ed. The 50th birthday of the Corvette warranted something very special and unique that celebrated what Corvette is all about - power and agility. I agree with you that the Ann.Ed. is a good looking car, but not only did Hill's group not provide any extra power, they produced another red aniversary car - certainly not unique in Corvette history. The car obviously sold well, but a gold car with 385 HP might have sold twice as many. They already had the old Z06 engine certified and could have packaged that engine in the Ann. Ed. for another couple grand. If they had offered the 405HP in the Ann.Ed., they would not have been able to build them quickly enough.

I agree 100%

The fact is, any 50th anniversary edition Corvette that GM could have come up with would have sold well. it has the Corvette name and special edition to go with it. people just think they will be worth more, or worth something, one day. If GM cared about their customers at all, we would have seen a 50th anniversary model be a convertible Z06.

OK. Here's something to share:

Just read a post on another site (sorry Rob, this is a great site - my favorite, but I'm always lookin' around) from a BGVETTE (address is Bowling Green, KY). He claims that as of today, the first year C6 will be introduced with NO CHANGE IN DRIVE TRAINS FROM C5. I find this very disturbing. It could mean we will see the LS1 as a standard engine and the LS6 as an extra cost option and the new LS2 & LS7 may be a year away. If this is true, the C6 will be a VERY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT TO ME - and to answer your question, the C6 would perform about the same as the current Z06 does - if it is not fitted with the new engine.

Sorry guys, this bit has soured my attitude today.

Well it may be that the ZO6 motor will carry over to be the standard powerplant with the upcoming 6.0L LS2 to be installed in the next ZO6 type car. The Cadillacs 5 speed auto will indeed see the 05 C6.
