My Z is currently in the shop getting some work done. I'm going with a set of AFR heads, so I'll have my stock LS6 heads for sale pretty soon. Looking for offers or at least ideas of what they're worth. They're as new with 5,000 miles on 'em.

I agree. How can you limit yourself to just exhaust? Mod that puppy.

Why would you want to mod it? They're fast enough stock (at least that's what my wife keeps telling me.) If I look Really hard, I MIGHT be able to find something still stock on mine.

why I don't want to "play" with 97
1 I have the 76 and (wifes edict) a 52 f-1 streetrod that need to be finished first
2 It is an old hot rodders proverb "don't play with your driver"
3 along with the heads I would want to change the cam and install headers
4 I would have to sell a gun or two to pay for them :L

Phil should have the check by now, I sent it out about a week ago ! It looks like my Cartech heads are good, pending a Magnaflux check. My buddy stripped some of the threads out of a Head Bolt hole when doing the install, and that is where the head gasket let go ! I still think my car will dyno & make more HP with your set of LS6 heads ! My buddy just re-tuned his '01 Z after a stealth cam install, and he made 385.8 rwhp. He achieved a best of 388 rwhp, but that was a VERY aggressive tune, max timing etc. and they decided in the interest of possible bad gas et. to back the timing down a bit !
Anyway, my 'Vette is awaiting those new heads, and I am waiting to get back home and drive it !

I'll post back as soon as I hear from Phil. He'll ship 'em out as quick as possible. Did you put all your shipping info with the check? That's great to hear that your Cartech heads are OK. You should be able to sell 'em and get some of your money back.
When are you supposed to get sent home? I'm sure you're counting the hours. Until then, keep your head down and God bless!!

Hey Steve,
The heads went out yesterday afternoon from Dynotech. Phil shipped them Fed Ex ground. He said he'd shoot me the tracking number as soon as he had the chance. Let me know what your guy thinks of them.

Yes, I definitely will let you know, as they will be going on my car ! It turns out, the one head that was leaking water is bad, and on top of that, BOTH heads are warped ! The guy at the machine shop said that the head that was leaking was due to having been surfaced to the point of actually having one of the GM casting marks completly removed ! I am highly upset. I PM'd the CF member who sold them to me, as it was at his request that I sent the heads to a machine shop ! I have been dealing with that guy for over two months, and it appears that he is just going to say, "Screw You". Oh BTW, I got an e-mail from FedEx with tracking numbers on the heads, so they should be delivered about Monday, which means my car should be ready by the end of the week ! YaHooo !
