Soon To Be FS: '02 LS6 Stock Heads...

That's too bad about your first set of heads Steve. Everyone understands that when you buy used parts, sometimes you have problems with them. However, when that happens, you've got to be a stand up person and take care of the problem. I sold a guy a throttle body a few years ago. He had problems with his car bucking after he installed it, so I took it back and sent him his money back. A few hundred bucks isn't worth your integrity!

Let me know when the heads show up at your guy's shop.

Take care
Tom

Receipt of the heads...

Hi Tom !

The heads arrived at my buddies shop on schedule, however, my buddy wasn't able to get it back together for me last week, so I am hoping that he will get it done this week ! BTW, I slipped on my dyno numbers, I found the chart this weekend while cleaning up at home, I actually put down 380 rwhp, and the rwtq was 360... with the defective heads.

Man Steve, that's very strong! My LS6 made about that with headers, exhaust, an intake and a tune. That puts you around 450/425 at the crank. That's VERY strong for a H/C LS1. It will be interesting to see where the LS6 heads put you. Do you still have the LS1 intake on it?

Strong numbers...

Hi Tom !

No, I am running a Z06 intake and injectors in it's current state of tune, the LS6 heads were all that was missing ! BTW, I meant to tell you in the earlier post, I did check out your AFR heads, and they truly are works of art ! Oh, I also wanted to ask you about the expected life time of the valve springs on the heads I bought from you. Can I expect to get a good life cycle out of them, or do I need to pull the valve covers every 3-5 thousand miles to check ? I know they are good springs, but I just can't recall what I read about the life expectancy of them ! Thank's.

Ah HA!!!! I thought you had been sneaking out on us!!! But I found you, you dog!!
Adding AFR's huh and you thought you would just slide back into the Fest and nobody notice....didn't you???!!!

How the heck have you been buddy??!!
Really Tom, which did you go with? The 205's or 225's? By the chamber size it sounds like 205's but Phil may have milled the 225's. I think I know where they came from. Be sure he port matches those babies, they are pretty out of the box but absolutely beautiful after a little cleaning and polishing!!

Are you registered for the Fest yet? I haven't seen you over there on Z06vette. Wondering what happened to you? You don't like us anymore?
Well, we miss you anyway!!
Give a shout back sometime.........on either site okay buddy?
Take care, have fun!

Hey Mike!!
How's tricks? I haven't been around much lately over on Z06Vette, but just because I've been pretty busy. Also, Dynotech has had my car for four months, so I've been kind of laying low while she's been under the knife. It threw ANOTHER serpentine belt back in the fall, so I trailered it to Ft. Wayne for them to get it sorted out. They're fabricating a whole new tensioner assembly and bracket to keep the thing from jumping the fence.

Along with the heads, I had the head unit up-graded to a T-trim to keep the boost up with the new free flowing heads. We'll see how it turns out. The AFR's are the 205's and Phil is going to port match 'em.

As for the Fest, I'm not gonna make it this year.:cry July 21st is my son Garrett's 10th Birthday, and we promised him he could take some buddies up to Cedar Point (amusement park) and we'd spend the weekend. We'll make it next year for sure though!

So what's going on with your Z? How's she doing?

Take Care!

Tom

Ah Tom,
We're going to miss you this year!! But I sure hope and know you will have a ton of fun that weekend!! I really do wish they would move the date for the Fest back to Sept like the 1st 2. Oh well, I'm planning on making a few more at least!
I guess we'll call my car Lil Bluzee, compared to your monster anyway. She's up in Jersey getting a little bumpstick and a couple things tweaked. Nothing to compare to the 640 rwhp but......
I'm hoping to get a CCW drag package and see what I can do. I've never driven anything on slicks so I have some learning to do!! It's a different sensation from what I've been told.
Well, glad to hear you're doing well and still around......somewhere anyway!! Ha, ha!!
Take care buddy,
Mike
