spaghetti dinner under the hood

yeah rpounds- I apologize for not replying back-

I did in fact go to that web site and found a drawing of what I needed without having to pay a fee. That's a good resourse that I added to my favorites---

tell you what- I probably shouldn't have done this because the car was running pretty good, however, I dumped the carb in my parts washer w/o taking it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. Put it all back, thanks to you all the hoses and she is running just a little stonger and smoother! I've only had the car a little more than a month so I'm doing the easy simple stuff since I don't know what's been or not been done to it...

next

check plugs replace if necessary
oil/filter
ect

Any ideas on why my '78 is not sitting level? I still have to check this- it sits low in the back, maybe shocks, leaf springs??!!

thanks man...

Sully,

One of the vette suspension gurus probably needs to chip in here. But, I believe that you can adjust the ride height with the nut that holds the mono spring on each end.

Again, please don't take my word for this as I am far from familiar with the rear suspension.

Heidi, you have a Goodwrench LM1 engine. Not a bad starting point, but not very exciting in its stock form (8.5:1 compression ratio -- similar to an original L48). But it can be beefed up in a variety of ways.

For starters, you could install a cam and lifters. Also an intake manifold wouldn't hurt. And true dual exhaust if you don't have it already. If you wanted to keep going, a better set of heads would make things more interesting. Smaller chambers would increase your compression ratio slightly.

And notice we haven't event pulled the engine yet! We have, however, spent a few dollars...
