No!

We are waiting for a red BIG BIG BIG Block from Canada on his way to Carlisle Pa!

That barn / garage sure looks great. I love the look of it. You must have quite a lot more room to work with the extra space now.

Enjoy it! In this northern climate a warm garage to work in during the winter is almost as good as clear summer roads for driving the vette.

Thanks for the complements; I will not be pouring the concrete floor until the weather breaks so I am not getting the full usage of the new section. I have one car stored in it at the current time with a couple of layers of plastic for a moisture barrier. I hope to have it ready for the next hibernation period.

It has been quite a while since the last post on winter projects, but I finally poured the floor in my barn expansion project. I thought I would share a few photos with the forum. I now have a 28' X 46' work space and plan I enjoying the space today as I am working on the 63SWC.

1. Drink heavily

2. Small block -> New dash wiring harness. Rewire MSD and stereo to take power off of one power point. Pull valve rocker studs, seal and reinstall to fix problem of oil infiltration into combustion chambers. Remove fuel hard lines and replace with billet/soft lines. Buff aluminum valve covers.

3. Drink heavily

4. Big block -> Have friends over and drink heavily. Install roller rockers. Install previously buffed tall valve covers. Remove fuel hard lines and replace with billet/soft lines. Rewire MSD and stereo to take power off of one power point. Pull console and send guage faces for re-screening.

5. Check the depth of the snow. If it's deep, fire up the snowblower so that we can get to the airport and get the hell out of here.

I'm sorta gettin a hankerin' to get mine up on stands. Got big plans. Upgraded handling is my thing now. I am really in a quandry about installing a leaf spring front end with all the bells and whistles. I REALLY like the idea of the lighter weight etc. But..... Talking to Guldstrands yesterday. They stick with the original set-up he's obvously forgotten more that I will ever know. So I could just install urethane bushings and be done with it. I dunno but I am ready to order. Jim Meyers stuff is just a little too pricey for me to justify.
I am also going to solid mount where I can. Heim end sway bar links. Solid bushings in the strut rods in the rear. Gonna get some p4000's that everyone seems to dig. Norval is a big inspiration.

I'm hoping to make huge progress on my Grand Sport, hope to have the body on and painted before next June...

I'm still a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way from getting there... :L

Great looking frame there Jay. We all can't wait to see more pics of your project as it comes together.

BTW that is a very cool hood ornament you have on your '65 in your avatar. Mine did not come with that...what is the option code?;LOL

Take care,
Brian

groovyjay,

It would be nice to see some close ups, of the frame mounted supports you made for the four-links. Did you ever use this type of setup on a Corvette, or is this a one of one. ?

The rods also look rather small, are you using spherical rod ends, or are they billet steel with the urethane bushings.

This winter is going to be a special one. My dad bought his 1961 Vette in 1988 and it sat for about 10-12 years until I turned 15 (that was 6 years ago) and started taking parts off of it. It started out as an on body restoration then turned into an off body restoration, which we were glad we did because there were some cracks in the frame. This winter the body will be painted and reunited with the frame for the first time in 3 years. I can't wait because I worked hard to strip the layers of paint off the body and the paint job was terrible. I have pictures of my project on the webshots page and hope to update them as soon as I can get down to the painter to take some more.

I'll post more close ups, when I get it all done. It's the Guldstrand 5-link and it uses aluminum rods with heim joints in every end. It's first for me and by the looks of things it'll be last for me, next time I'll just go with C6 stuff it'll propably be easier too. :L

Me too.....My 1963 goes in for paint in the next few weeks, maybe next. I still have not decided on the colour. The vote has left me undecided....

PS Stephenwolf nice stuff, I love a clean shop. Please post more photos of your progress when you can. I am very impressed. Thanks for sharing.
