As a supplement to my recent thread and especially to any Velocity Yellow Vet owners; this bit of info: The body shop informed me that the paint is something like a "three step?" process that costs more and most important according to the body shop owner is unavailable to California owners. I wonder how many Velocity Yellow Vets are in Ca. And what are they to do?
Is the color not available there as an original choice? Maybe Chevrolet throws in a couple of gallons when you buy the car. At least I don't have to cope with that problem.

Yes, there is such thing as a "tri-stage" paint job.
Basecoat, a midcoat, and clearcoat.
Usually the midcoat is some kind of pearl or a translucent tint coat.
