Hello Fellow Corvette Pilots!

I would like to add some Grandsport Type Stripes to my C4....
but I do not know the following:

1) The height, length and width of stripe.
2) The correction position were they should be applied ( measurements from the front of the car and from the door.)

Can any one help me with these details?

Anyone have any pic's to show me?

Thank-you in advance

hey moonunit since youre car is running low 12's i want to know if you have mufflers, because some people say that is better without them, my car got flowmasters but they dont sound right and i took my cat and pre cats out now im thinking to run 2 straight pipes from the y pipe and cutting the mufflers, what do you think is the best and what are the best mods to make an 87 vette run 12's, thanks man.

In case you are interested in original fender decals, see below. Paper backing on decal extends to the headlight well to aid in positioning. Piece of cake.

My car is a highly moded 383 A4. It has the widely used Lingenfelter setup with the SR and 219 cam. I know I should proly put the mods in my sig, but it's lenghty and I just haven't figured out the time and way to do it without seeming somehow pompous I guess.

Getting into the 12's (low) is EXPENSIVE in these cars. I have an 87 roller block to start with.

To answer your question more directly, I have Hooker 2151's, to true duals -> 3" RT Metal Matrix bullet cats-> 3" Magnaflo X pipe -> Borla 2.75" Muffs, as well as a D44 3:33 rear and no final tune yet.

You will need to do A LOT to get into the 12's for most of these cars in most cases. At least, into intake , rockers, (?) heads, cam, LT headers, exhaust, stall converters, and rear ends. In general there is no way around it, unless of course, you pee on it ;LOL

Good luck :beer

Like Willycool, I'm also looking at some stripes. What about dimensions for stripes over the body?
Also, anybody have any opinions on what color to put over yellow? (I'm thinking black)... I saw a pic of some once, but can't find it.
Sorry to hijack your thread Willycool.... :D
Thanks,
Oliver

Uhhm, all the dimentions are there :confused Yup Black on Yellow :cool

No, he means the skunk stripe.

The factory 2-color decal pinstripes are 1/4" wide (white) and 1/4" (blue) measured out from the wide center stripe. Actually, they are just a tiny bit narrower than this, but 1/4" is plenty close enough. From the front of the car going back, measuring across the wide center stripe only (not including the pinstripes):

at the very bottom of the nose below the front license plate: 17"
across "Corvette" on the front license plate cover: 17-1/8"
across the Corvette emblem on the nose: 18"
even with the top of the headlamp openings: 19"
1/2 way up the hood: 20"
at the rear of the hood: 21-1/4"
across the top, front (coupe): 19-5/16"
across the top, middle (coupe): 19"
across the top, back (coupe): 18-5/8"
across the gas cap: 17"
across "Corvette" at the rear: 16-7/8"
below the rear license plate: 16-3/4"

OK, so, I'm an idiot ;LOL Not the first time.... Nice to see ya in here berky, been a while :w :beer

Moon,

Yeah, I know, I had a couple of finals, working full-time, doing an interior restoration on a 73, and I had to sleep once in a while. I have zero time to work on my car, and only get on here once a week or so. Then I went 3 weeks without my laptop, and now I'm just getting back into checking the boards again.

Starting my garage soon, so sleep will once again be elusive.

Later.
