"splicing" a metal coolant line?

I managed to badly kink one of the transmission coolant lines while attempting to remove it from the radiator (the flange nut had apparently rusted to the pipe, so while it turned from the radiator, it was also bending the pipe). I did get it mostly unkinked, but don't trust that the flow is unimpeded - and as this is going to the overdrive, I want full cooling capacity. The line itself looks difficult to replace as it winds under the engine, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a kit to repair metal lines - something that would let me flange both ends with a tightening coupler in the middle or something.

Thanks...

In case you don't know what a compression fitting looks like...you can get them at any hardware or plumbing store. They come in all sorts of sizes.

Thanks, guys. Off to the hardware store tomorrow, then. I think for simplicity's sake I'll cut the line behind the kink before removing it from the radiator, then buy a new length and bend it to fit (I've got the flaring and bending stuff here from replacing sinks... nice when tools cross over from housework to hobby work!).

You can get pipe that is already flared and has the fittings on it at your local auto parts store. They sell it as brake line. Usually comes in all the diameters and threads you may need. Comes in different lengths also. Have used it many times to fix the situation that you have now. Makes a neat repair.
