Long story short ,my helper has wired the starter wrong on a 63 and we were getting some smoke from the engine bay .I had it wired correctly but it had to be removed due to a oil leak and reinstalled.Everything is new from the firewall forward including wire harnesses. We have noticed one wire that has gotten hot and melted the insulation. My question is how badly damaged is the harness ?What else do I need to look at,alternator, volt reg.?This has me worried but more ****ed off. Thanks for any help.

Mark,

I would be happy to come help if needed, wiring on a midyear is second nature to me, call me if you need me to come by.
