I have an intermittent problem that has developed on my 95 automatic LT1. For the last few weeks occasionally when I go to start my car, after not driving it for a day, it would click once then nothing. I would play with the wheel or step on the brake and it would start fine. Today I went to wash it and nothing but the click when I turned the key. Did the brake and wheel thing and then it started up. I backed it out of the garage and washed it. Same starting problem again only an hour later. Then as I was shutting it down for the night, I turned the key off and the engine turned off but I heard some sort of noise like a small motor running under the hood. It went off after a few seconds but freaked me out. Any idea what this might be? I am having it towed to the dealer tomorrow morning.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a lose ground. I cleaned the ground and tightened it back down. Haven't had the problem since.
