"State Farm pulled a similar deal on me when I moved from a larger, more congested city to a more rural area with fewer cars, etc. Made absolutely no sense. My premiums skyrocketed......screw you and the horse you rode in on. I will not do business with State Farm again.....ever. Right now I'm with Shelter and the premiums are very reasonable."

Hi Toms94!!!

My rates doubled when I moved from rural Manhattan/Wamego, KS area to the Houston area (although I live in a small town here too 54 miles from Houston!). They told me it doubled because I moved to a larger, more congested city. They'll get you coming and going!! I still think my rates are reasonable relative to others and have been covered by SF since I was 14.

They just started an antiques/classics program that is supposed to save me close to 1/2 my premium per year (about $400). I turned in the paperwork and a picture today. We'll see how that goes, but that's a lot of dough.

I've been with State Farm since I turned 16 and started driving and I am now 51 years old and have never had a problem and always had good rates!;shrug

I was just like you until I had a claim problem. I had been with them since I started driving and I'm now 57. My daughter's car got vandilized at school and State Farm were real jerks about it. It was the first claim we had had in years. The agent was worthless. It caused me to look around and I am now with Hartford through AARP. Put all my cars and my house with them with the same coverage and cut my cost in half - no exageration! I have found that it pays to get quotes from time to time.

If you have a daily driver, why not insure the vet with with a collector car insurance company. I use Grundy's. No milage limits, drive it anytime I want. Took three week cruise across country last year, no problems with them. Even talked with them before leaving for the trip. Told me to have a great time. I have three corvettes and a 65 olds insured with them for approx. what your insurance company wants for your vet. Hope this helps. :w
