Im definately in the future, like this summer looking to get the Vette painted as one of the final steps in my project. I plan on getting the hood before obviously. I absolutely have to get the stinger hood. Instead of buying a new $400-600 hood cant I just use my perfectly good one and glass on a scoop like this>>>>>?

Or this>>>

That would cost a great deal less. If so does anyone know of any sites where you can get a good scoop from?

stinger hood scoop source

Hey Macgyver,

I have a '68 and chose the stinger style scoop. Check out JD Corvette at this link: www.jdcorvette.com/glasslist.htm for their pricing and availability. I went with the 67 427-Big Block design, which is the scoop used for the "stinger" hoods. I cut the "hump" off of the front of the scoop so that the natural "V" lines of the C-3 hood blend in nicely. JD Corvette has a nice product, and it is a one-piece scoop rather than the two-piece item you saw on e-Bay. Good Luck!!

Once I retire, I'm going around pulling "stingers" off of anything but a '67 big block. :D
