A high-speed police pursuit of a stolen Corvette ended when the car went airborne and slammed into the side of a house late Tuesday night, authorities said.

The chase began in Opa-locka when undercover officers spotted the stolen car in the area of Northwest 15th Avenue and 62nd Street, Miami Police spokesman Det. Willie Moreno said.

The occupants of the car spotted the undercover officers and started to flee, and a high-speed chase ensued, Moreno said.

At one point, the car went over some railroad tracks, causing it to go airborne and hit the house in the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 74th Street.
