Stroker Question

WOW Offshore! I would say I can't believe that, but I had a car hit my Cutlass in front of the house and leave before I could get to the window. How did it all work out?

I was using fuel line on the rod bolts and one slipped off while I wasn't paying attention to it.

The xmission kicks down at about 1/2 throttle because of the kickdown valve. I got a fix for it from the x-fire guys and haven't done it yet. I also read last night in Chevy Hi-performance that B&M sells a valve that will not kick down until 3/4 throttle. I'll have to get my tail under the car and take care of it.

I appreciate all the info you guys offered up and especially that about the RPM's range of my motor. I am trying to learn about hopping up motors, but I find it is like learning how to barbeque well. Most people don't know how to do it and the one's that do usually hang just enough information out there to really aggravate you and never really tell you what you need to know. I guess I could have posed the question here rather than talking to people at the speed and machine shops, but I didn't want to post one of those "How fast can I spin this engine" topics. I get the feeling that those aren't real well received on forums.

Jack, I don't have much luck with taps. I have used them twice and broke them both times. I try to work slowly and to be gentle, but it just doesn't seem to be my strong point. However, I think I will try your suggestion and hold my breath. I figure i have nothing to loose if I am already prepared to replace it if I have to.
