Just a bunch of parts....
I am looking for suggestions from forum members on what alarm system they have or recommend. What I want it to do is...

1. The basic function of an auto alarm - make a lot of noise if someone is trying to break into or steal my car.
2. Keyless entry - the alarm must include the power door lock conversion
3. The ability to also control the power windows (to be able to roll them up or down remotely)
4. I don't need the remote start function.

What have you done on yours?

Thanks,

Jeff

I used the Alpine SEC 150C in mine. Whatever you get make sure you get at least 3 Programmable EXT Outputs so you can add on the window modules, and any other functional modules you wish. I also added two more sirens (one up under the rear wheel well and another under the hood) for a total of three (just connect the extra sirens using a relay) when my alarm goes off, no one ignores it, and it actually can hurt your eardrums.

Thumper, how good are you at installing alarms, especially without an instruction sheet? The reason I ask is that I have a Raptor Security System that I took out of my Vette, but I do not have the instructions for installing it (I had it professionally installed when I bought it).

The system utilizes remote door locking/unlocking, has a siren alarm and has a anti-theft kill device as part of the kit. I forget what it cost me at the moment, but it was somewhere around $300. I'd be willing to let it go cheap, say $150 + shipping. ;)

Ken,

I am pretty handy at wiring things up, but instructions are pretty important for something like an alarm system. Do you have a URL for the manufacturer? I've found that some of the better ones have PDF files of their manuals. If we can track that info down, I might be interested in your alarm.
