Sun Visor

Welcome Joel!!

I don't know about replacing them... the ends have gotten broken on both mine and I've tried to come up with something small and flexible I could just insert under the cloth cover to support them.

Are you experiencing the same issue with yours or is it actually broken?

The previous owner thought to pull the visor down by the end, which breaks the inner board and makes it look like a floppy ear. The drivers side was replaced by the dealer as part of the deal because the plastic lid was broken. Then the two visors looked different and I couldn't stand it. They are expensive, but the car has to be kept up.

This might help you get the old one off http://www.c5creations.com/information.php Go to the installation guide for the Homelink. There are instructions to remove the sunvisor.

That looks like it. I have an independent mechanic who was a GM tech and knows Vettes and warned me not to let the trim guy do it. This may let me do it myself, which is always best as long as I can't do damage.

Thanks,

Visor "Pins"

The visor/mirror part on my Vette was always questionable from day one.

The Assy came down the other day and it appears the "Pins" broke off inside the visor on one side and on the other, just poped out. The are plastic about the size of pencil lead. The Visors are now $125.00 at the Dealer.

My wife and I have come to same conclusion about GM Trim---not the best.

When I get in my car if I lean back hard while getting comfortable, the seat back right side pops out and I use the adjustment lever to pop it back in place--not sure if it's the hinge or a gear assy.

Anyway, did you use silicone or? to repair the visor?

I replaced the visor at the mechanic. A trim shop can repair your seat. They will have to take the cover off. It's expensive to own the car. At least it holds it's value.

As for the visor, before you pay the mob rates that the dealer charges, take a look at some of the extremely nice custom leather visors being offered for the same money. Don't pay the dealer price when you can get the same stock visor from vendors for $50 less.

Google is your friend.
