Anyone own or thinking about getting the Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic paint? I have a dealer trying to make me a deal on a car and I am trying to figure out if is because of the color. I haven't seen any on the road in this color and hear the color is discontinued.

The dealer is too far to travel just to see the car. I only want to go them if I am going to but it.

Let me know your opinion.

I have one, and there are several in the Atlanta area. Very unique color, but it's one of those "love it or hate it" kind of things. : )

I haven't seen one in person, but I sure do like the color in the pics I have seen.

Would you say you "love it"? Also, how does it look when it is not clean or with road dirt? I have a triple black car now that is awesome when clean but after the first drive, it's not so nice.

i traded my precision red coupe for a dsom vert. my friend figures i've had 13 different cars in the last 10 years the dsom is without a doubt the best looking color i've ever seen on a car. even my wife who usually could care less about my cars or their color loves it. now color is a personal decision. but one of the things about this color is it's always changing in bright sun it's a bronzy burnt orangethe less sun there is the redder it looks

I saw a new coupe with this color recently - on a clear, sunny day. If I were ordering a new C6 - this would be the color I ordered. It was beautiful.

I just bought a DSOM coupe in March(my 6th Vette) and I couldn't be happier with the color. I live in Las Vegas where there is ALWAYS dust in the air and a car stays clean for about a day and a half. It is nowhere near as bad as the 91 Black coupe I had. It still turns heads when it is moderately dirty. I usually try to wash it every Saturday anyway. I have had more compliments on this color than any other Corvette I have owned.

I don't own a C6 DSOM, but the 2000 Harley Springer I just sold was Aztec Orange. Very close to DSOM. I loved the color and got many a compliment on the color. If I was in the market for a C6, DSOM would be my first choice. In fact, the color is what sold the bike for me.

I sat in one at the auto show in Columbus, OH. I loved the color before that and once I saw it in person I got to like it even more. I say go for it!!:D

Yup, it's absolutely stunning on a sunny day. Like one of the other posters mentioned, it changes color depending on the light. It does show dirt pretty easily, but not as badly as black or red cars I've owned. I've replaced the stock exhaust with a custom 4 inch all stainless dual/single catback and it REALLY makes the car look impressive from the back (plus it sounds great!)

Hope that helps!

Love it or Hate it

Well, I am one of the latter. I saw one in a dealership in Michigan & I hated he color. I had to see a red one before I started liking the C6 again. Just my opinion.

C5

I saw an Orange C6 on the freeway here in the So California rea and it looked BADASSSSSS. Unique color, go for it :cool

I've seen several- in Atlanta and also at Bowling Green.
It is definitely a love-hate thing. I know someone who works at the plant who can't stand the color. But I think they are gorgeous. Especially the vert!

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna try to get this car pending the deal. I am dealing between three dealers and trying to get the best lease price. Unfortunately, the dealer with the DSOM is the highest and is one option short of the other two...but we'll see. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Thanks again!

Sounds cool! Can you post a picture of the back end of your ride?
Thinking about the Corsas on mine.

Thanks!

Wow!

Well as my first post here let me say that the color does look very different in different light. I for one obviously like it since I bought one, but here is a link to my pictures which do show the DSOM color in a lot of different lights.

Hope this helps... http://digitalman.smugmug.com/gallery/317542

Great pics, man! I can not wait to get mine in that color. I hope this talk of cancelling this color is wrong.
