Im about to install a new street-N-slamon HD suspension. Ive seen previous posts that have shown pics of the mounting plates ,where the lower A-Arms mount to the frame Cross member that have seperated. Is this a weekness? should I consider adding some more welds to this plate before I start to install the new suspension? (has anyone done this before?) also will this weeken the frame if I do?, and what about the plate thats welded to the lower A-Arm for the sway bar mount? is this strong enough?............. I have a base factory suspension originaly. No rust and the frame looks solid. Im installing new 550Lbs Ft. springs, and 1 1/4in sway bar. In a 75 vert... thanks all

your stock a-arms are strong enough, no need to worry about them. the lower a-arm bracket welded to the frame is a major area of concern. they are notorious for **** poor welds. i had one that came completely off. the only thing holding it in place was the pressure of the car and the lip of the washers. after removing the spring and a-arm, the whole braket fell off in my hand. make sure you inspect them, won't hurt to add some extra weld. if the temp is kept down while welding, no frame damage will result. Yes the lower A arm mounts need to be welded solid, the ends should also be gussetted and one of the gusets should extend to the mount for the A arm. Alot of people have done this.
