Well, finished installing the adjustable lower control arms, and had a four wheel alignment performed. Well, on the way home, opened the nitrous valve, and played. The car is solid and like a bullet up to about 100. Didnt want a ticket so backed off, neighbour drove it and said it steers like a porsche. All in all a very enjoyable drive.

Cheers

Richard

The '77 was considered the best handling of the Sharks at the time. I finished re-building my suspension a month ago--what a joy to drive now--sooooo smooth and precise. I never want to go home.

Yes, I agree, even my neighbour took the car out for a drive and said it was the best riding "older" Corvette he had ever been in.

What did you do to improve steering precision----my '81 is pretty good (after lots of steering box adjustments), but I am always looking for ways to improve it, and am currently reading-up about caster settings. Vette Brakes offers an upper A-arm that they claim allows you to improve the caster setting (more positive) for more directional stability. I am going to start a thread and ask about it.--Chris Kennedy

Chris, I understand that increasing the caster can help straight line stability. I bit the bullet on mine, and put the steeroids rack and pinion conversion on it, so directional stability is like a new car, as is precision, not to mention just under 2 1/2 turns lock to lock.

Cheers

Richard
