Hi all,
I did a search and found a post from 2003. There was a guy who switched his 1971 from the stock solid aluminum mounts to rubber mounts, which GM started in 1973. He said the ride was much better. Apparently it raises the car about a 3/8" or so. I could live with that.
My stock aluminum ones have been eaten away due to bi-mettalic (dissimilar materials) corrosion. Looks like the aluminum was eaten away.
Has anyone else done this, I am thinking about going with the energy suspension kit.
Thanks Ed :w

I wouldn't expect the polyurethane mounts to ride any better than the stock metal mounts.

Changed all bushings in my '81(originals were rubber) to poly and I mean all bushings, it rides like a rock handles very nice though, no body roll. Went with a VBP kit
