Hi Bill,
Actually, the stock lenses and lights are used. The only thing you do is add "blocks" and a foam seal and rubber weatherstrip to each opening, and then use the supplied longer screws to re-install. I'd say the whole installation took about 30-45 minutes at most. Here's a pic from a different angle.

Is this something you bought Chrisr or did you make it? If you bought it where did you get them?

They look good, does it help keep the dirt and water from staying in and around the tail lights?

Thanks again,
Bill :w

Bill,
I got them at West Coast Corvettes. They cost $39.00, but since I got an email sale flyer from them, they only cost $29.00.

And yes, they really do help in keeping water and crud out of there. Granted you still get a small bit, but nothing like before.

Thanks for the information and I will check it out. . . . .

Have a great week-end, and a happy, healthy life to you and yours.

Hey Chrisr,
Send me that E-Mail would ya, poor guy like me needs a discount. :)

Joe,
I have to apologize, I got the email a couple months ago and have since deleted it. I'll bet if you call them and ask for the $29.00 price they'll do it. When I ordered mine, the girl on the phone said they were $39.99. I told her I recieved an email stating they were 29.99. She said, "OK, I can do that price." Didn't ask for any promo code or anything.

HTH some,

Chris

Yes! :D and you can get it at Lowes...
The guy selling it for $25 on the CF is making people think its his invention but it has been selling on ebay now for the past 3 years...he stole the idea from a guy selling it on ebay and wants you to think it is his invention..I offered it free to some guys and got banned...:W

It's Gotta be the Azzzz Holes at Digital Corvette.....

That forum is a pack of what must be former drill instructors...No need to voice an opinion there, opinions are not allowed. No wonder it's such an inactive forum.

I need to explain something to you...they have over 100,000 members and there are thousands online at any given time...so to be fair, I have to disagree with you about it being an inactive forum:L ...now about the drill instructors...thats a different story:)

Good info........I guess it's primarily the attitudes of the powers to be that irk me. That group needs to loosen up and have a little fun. After all, we only ride this merry go round once.............

Will this particular material work on stock location (non-flush) lights without scuffing the paint?

They should make the designers wash the prototypes themselves, then we wouldn't have taillights, mirrors and door handles that drip, and coupe hatches that actually divert water into the drain, not the rear compartment.

Hummm.... and if they made the decision makers drive one a couple of hundred miles on the highway we wouldn't have noisy Runcrap tires, and would have better seats, and if they had driven at night we would have had better flip-up lights.... oh, the list goes on....

Thanks

The dripping and etc. I agree with; but I have noticed simular issues with other vehicles; (maybe not in the same places) that I have or have had; but what I don't understand what is wrong with the seats and the flip-up headlamps? :confused Just curious more than anything else, I don't drive mine very far or at night all that much so I thought maybe I am over looking something. Run-flats have to be one of those trade-offs in life but without a spare tire I will put up with the rougher ride and the noisier tire to at least get to civilization for help. Even though GM could have made some improvements it is still a fun car to drive; not so sure I would want to drive it as a daily driver, there are definently more comfortable cars out there but they don't have the crisma of a CORVETTE :_rock

Are you trying to hijack this thread? This particular material is silicone rubber and it will not scuff anything....it is as smoothe and as a babys azz...again the intent of this thread is to inform Corvette people about the tail light gaskets, not other issues...:)

No need to get testy, Dude, not trying to hijack anything. I had a valid question I thought, but apparently absolutely no deviation is allowed in your threads.

I believe that this thread is about to outlive its usefulness.

Yep, I agree. And if anyone hijacked this thread, I did by bringing up the flush mount tail-lite lenses. For that I apologize. Never meant to hijack the thread.

Has anyone put the silicone rubber seals around their tail lights and how much did you pay for the 4 -24" gaskets?:upthumbs
=======================================================
BTW...I just got banned for a month from another forum for telling members the "big damn secret" of where to get the exact same tail light silicone rubber gasket material better known as "tail light seals" for $6.80 instead of $25...(20 feet of the gasket material for $16.99 makes 10 tail light gaskets/seals)can you believe that great reward of being banned for a month for trying to help members fight the "corvette tax"....go figure:confused
I was THREATENED as well by the CF!. Seems I was interfering with sales by the vender!

Hey everyone, let's keep this more about tail lights and less about the other forums, OK? :)
