I know there had to be some....how fast were you all going and who ruled the road? :D

Actually it wasn't anything like last year. There was large amounts of traffic on the roads during our drive times. There was one small run that had me laughing though. There were four of us heading back to the hotel on Friday. Eric was leading followed by Pete, then Steve in his CR1 and Lauri and I bringing up the rear in my car. Eric finally got some room to go and hit it moderately. We all followed and so did a Z06 that was behind me. I think he was full of himself because he was still with us. We had to slow up for traffic and he decided to move over one lane to the right (we were in the left) and come up along side us. He got up about as far as Pete's side I think. I believe it was an attempted pass but he got blocked by slower traffic and had to move back in behind me and started riding my back end. Just as he did we got another opening and everyone hit it pretty hard. I just hung back for a few seconds and waited for some running room. I hit third at about 60mph and matted it pulling the Z06 so hard he looked like he must have found reverse. We had to slow up again after about a quarter of a mile or so. After that he wouldn't get within about 100 yards of us. I think we took him to school and taught him a valuable lesson. :L

Good summary Kevin! I was surprised that there was a lot of traffic-- and a lot of traffic for all 4 days of running back and forth from the fairgrounds. I guess the Callaway Shortcut is being figured out by too many people!

A couple people have pictures of speedometer readouts... though, I heard that those pictures were done in a closed test track environment. :)

Yes, It's always good to have that closed track test environment available for actual speed runs. :L

I left out the part about the kid in the Acura trying like heck to stay with us. He couldn't even manage that in traffic. Too funny.

I have a few pics myself (done on the test track) - At least Eric, you had a photographer in your car ;)

Who got the one by the "Beware" Sign? Anyone??

I have one with Kevin right in front of the sign Warning about aggressive drivers.

Had I only known... I'd have put on another flame show. I was actually thinking about that from last year.

how 'bout this? actually this was taken at the Big Bend Open Road Race last year.
