NotSlo,

Thanks for sharing. I am glad you were not hurt. ANY car can be repaired or replaced.

I tried not to respond to this thread because I tend to be an opinionated jerk but you have taken too much abuse for your good intentions; therefore I can not stay silent any longer.

On another thread I admitted that I spun my 63 coupe while street racing in downtown Atlanta. This resulted in breaking 2 very hard to find original wheels and associated suspension components. Nobody gave me any grief about that post. Unlike You, I was totally at fault.

The ticket is a bum wrap, ´hope you beat it.

Consider this an invitation to visit Europe. There is always a place at our table for a man like you who is willing to share his experiences, good or bad, with out parading his ego.

Again, Thanks for sharing.

Rob, please close this thread as soon as possible. I got home just as you were closing his thread but felt that the above had to be said. I do not want to start all that crap over agin.

Thank you sir! I appreciate the kind words!

Notslo...

Hey Buckeye...don't let the foolishness of one ruin your pleasure here at CAC. All of us were sorry to hear of your misfortune and were equally as glad to hear you are ok. Please continue to embrace us with updates on how the car is coming along.
Take care neighbor...!

I see no reason to close this thread and I suspect the crap won't start all over again.

NotSlo,

Glad to hear that you're okay. We haven't had much snow in Chicago this winter, but the temperature is terrible (5-15 degree weather is no fun).

I think this will give you the perfect reason to the wife for buying a new Corvette!

Edmond,
I was in Rosemont the week of December 2nd and it snowed and was freezing! Did you order that snow special for me??? ;)

Gotta give you OH folks a taste of Chicago winter!

And for you Southern and CA members, we've got plenty of that waiting here for ya!

It's been about 15-20 degrees here in MD, but reasonably clear, so I wanted to take the Vette out. However, somehow it dug little nails into the garage floor and refused to let me take it out in the cold! I could hear it whining "No! No! Please let me stay in the warm garage!" Wimp...

It's mad at me because the last TWO times I took it out it started flurrying while I was out.

Wow! it got down to 40' last night. I don't know what to do?:eek :eek :eek :eek :eek

You poor Californians!:L :L :L When it hit 55 degrees last week, I was so excited that I drove with the windows open!

If I saw 55 around here,I'd be out cruizin with shorts and tee shirt and the t- tops off. I can hardly wait for 40 degree weather!

Now that you bring that up... It was like 5 out here today and I saw a guy at Home Depot with shorts on!

I'm almost afraid to admit this, because I'm reasonably sure it will draw the ire of some of our mid-west members. However (throwing caution to the win), today in Denver, we reached a high of 60 Degrees. Very unusual for January. Don't worry though, our spring snows are the worst! We can eight inches overnight, and with the daily variation in temps, we get a thaw-freeze effect that covers the roads with the most obnoxious black ice for a couple of days.

You know, I was lurking and reading the responses to NotSlo's original post, including the one from the guy who "supposedly" was from San Diego chiding Vette owners for driving in the snow. That was one of the reasons I decided to stop lurking, and join.

NotSlo, I'm relieved that your Vette will live to see another warm summer, and happy that you weren't seriously injured in the mishap. I, too, have to occassionally drive in the snow, and other than the fact that the torque on my '91 can cause some fishtailing if I don't downshift, I've never had any problems.

Don't fear the weather, folks. If the post office can deliver mail in rain, hail, sleet, snow and darkness of night, we can certainly drive our Vettes.

Hello and welcome to the CAC.

The only thing that draws any ire from me is that it wasn't 60 here today so I could drive with the windows down! It's okay though because I think that I have a bad bearing and the car is just sittin' in the garage now until I can figure out what to do.

Edmond,
Thanks for the Welcome. If it helps any, I'm thinking warm thoughts, and sending them in them in your direction.
:)

Well, I read the other thread and I'll say this.

NotSlo lives about 10 minutes from me. We've done quite a few cruises, lunches and trips to the drag strip together.

He drives his Corvette because he enjoys it. Plain and simple truth. He's the type of Corvette guy that owns one because he loves the car, not because he's trying to impress someone.

Thanks Gary. You hit the nail on the head. When I travel for work and am driving some crappy rental car for a week, it is an amazing pleasure to get back in the driver's seat of the Vette and feel the power and responsiveness that I've been missing all week. I will never get rid of this car, it will not stay original, and it will just keep getting better!

:beer

BTW, the other thread has 1267 views! :eek

I have a feeling that thread was linked to a couple other web sites for more reasons than just to find out how you're doing....trolls are amazing creatures...
