Olso to Berlin

Hello America,

The car finally arrived and I was off to the parents home of ChevyUnger, a member of the forum. He mentioned that his parents had a place I could crash and that he would meet me there for the ride to his house in Berlin the next day.

Here are some pictures of the crash pad...Matthias, and his parents Heidi and Kurt. I was treated very well as you can see.

Pls let me know your schedule here in Zürich when you know more in detail. I could leave earlier from office and fetch my C2 and we could meet up somewhere. I guess you have arranged with someone else as well.

Stefan (82ColEd) lives out in Germany as well. I am not sure about relative distances to you, though. :thumb

For Tuesday , I will be around also all day on Tuesday.

You took some of the same pictures of Monte Carlo that I did back in 1970. I'll have to get out those slides and see how things have changed. Isn't it amazing how blue that water is? I did my tour on a motorcycle when I was in the army. A Corvette would be more fun today.

Corvette Gang of France

Here are some pictures of the Beach Fun Fest held by the Corvette Gang of France. I was the guest of honor at the event held in the south of France at Marseillan Plage, Marseillan France. More then 120 Corvettes were present for the 3 day event. Thousands of people viewed the cars every day.

Don't believe TV. The love of Americans and all things American by Europeans is almost overwhelming. They are more proud of our country, its people and its spirit then the news stations would lead you to believe.

A funny thing happen to me on theway to Bordeaux

I had left the activities in the south of France and was heading north towards Bordeaux , not knowing where I was to stay that night.

Tired , I stopped at a rest stop and had my head in my hands wondering where to go next, when someone tapped me on the back.

Startled, I turned around to find Alain and his lovely wife Christine standing behind me. I had met them a few days before and we talked about meeting again one day. Seeing the condition I was in they invited me to come home with them as they lived on the way to Bordeaux.

It was just fate that I should meet them and to my surprise , I learned that Alain was the owner of a French NASCAR team, with two cars, #17 & 18. NASCAR has been expanding its racing program in Europe and as luck would have it, I had a chance to interview Alain and to see his cars at NoGaro race track, 3rd largest track in France .

Here are some pictures of Alain at home and at the track. I have been invited by Alain to a NASCAR race at Le Mans in October and to watch his cars in the race. I spent two great days with Alain and his family .

Family including his mom in my car.

Alain's #18 NASCAR & Crew Alain also owns a 73 Corvette with a very American paint theme.

Very cool and fortunate, Jack. :thumb

I dig the 73 Vette. It is configured to an early 1970's flavor of culture Americana. The side pipes look sweet. I looked up the knowledgebase for a 73, but could not find if sidelines were an option by then. But all in all, Alain Vette captures the theme very well. :)

Even the pup in the 3rd picture down wants to get into the act! :)
GREAT pictures, and, as usual, I'm envious! :thumb
Thanks for doing all the posts with all of the pictures! I enjoy following this thread.

You are meeting some great people over there. Sort of restores your faith in humanity after all the media leads us to believe.
