Hello from Oregon.

32 years ago the manager at the store I worked at had a brand new
1978 Silver Anniversary Pace Car Vette that I washed everyday and
waxed every other day for him. It was a real beauty and new. I would move it
over 3 spaces so it would be closer to the hose. Backing out and
pulling forward was a true thrill. I was 17 years old and loved
the curves, the smell of the leather interior and the distinct engine rumble.

One day, I got finished washing and waxing it and handed the keys back
to Jim. To my suprise he handed them back and said I could take it
around the block. So I went out and took off the T-Tops and took it out.

I will never forget that beautiful sunny day, with the radio blasting the
song 'I'm Turning Japanese' by the Vapors. It was the beginning of the
dream of one day owning a Corvette. I was hooked.

Well, nearly 32 years later, the dream comes true in the form of a
2004 Comemmorative Edition Convertible Corvette.

The late February snow storm outside hasn't brought me down, I got
one day to drive around town before the storm hit. I will post a few
pictures when I can take some on the next sunny day.

I can't wait for this summer!

Welcome... always great to hear about another long time fan finally able to realize the dream!! But I've got you beat - I had to wait more than 40 years for my first ride in a Vette - and then I bought it. :happyanim:

Enjoy the :CAC and your dream ride.

It's a great feeling, isn't it?.....myself, like Jane Ann, waited almost 40 years to come down off the fence and get one....

Enjoy your Vette.....:beer

The dream finally comes true Hello from Oregon.
Awesome story and testament that dreams do come true if you believe they will :cool!:

Welcome to Corvette Action Center we're glad you found us, yes we do need pictures of your dream car soon :happyanim: it will help it's been a long winter!

Bill :w We are honored to give you the offfical wave :)

Congrats on realizing the dream

I am in the same lane as Jane Anne and many other corvette dreamers. My friends had restored 50s and 60s vettes, while I drove my Dad's big Buicks. My dream is close too. First drive was my test drive at local dealer a few weeks ago. Next one will be at Corvette Museum delivery, when I pick up new GS convertible. Also 35 years after the dream began. :beer

Welcome to CAC! :w Love the stories of those first 'itches', and the eventual 'scratch'.

Thank you all for the kind words. This seems like a very nice place.

The weather hasn't been too cooperative, and the trans-state licensing
process is taking some time, so I got a temporary trip permit and took
the girlfriend out for a ride last night while there was a break in the rain.

:happyanim:

I can't wait for summer.

Welcome to the cac.......................billy;););)
