The long ride home (coolant whoas)

KOPBET to the rescue again. Do you happen to know why the lower one has it, and the upper one does not?

Because at higher speeds the water pump will pull enough suction to possibly collapse the hose. The upper hose has water pushed through it from the engine and is not subject to that suction.

Is there anything you DON'T know? Heh, thanks again KOPBET.

Plenty! You just happened on one thing I did know. :L

Corvettes & computers... not much more! Can straighten the neck on a Stratocaster by any chance??

I would suggest that you change your heater hoses while you are at it. If you don't know or can't remember how old they are it's time for new ones. They can crack at the nipples and cause a total loss of coolant too. Also if you can find some shop willing to change that lower hose let them. I learned some new words changing ours. The hose is attached to the water pump when the engine was in the chassis before the body drop during assembly and I don't think they give much thought to ever getting it back out again.

Both will be changed as soon as I track down a GM upper radiator hose.
