The one thing I'd have to do to get a new ZO6

I agree and we do have fun together but not with cars. I am in a business that deals with auto manufacturing and so I get to have my hobby and work combined. I am hoping next summer I can get her to come out and meet other vette owners. Trying to ease her into the CAC cruise fest.

a business dealing with auto manufacturing in Mi? Who'd have thunk it possible! ;LOL

firstgear,
I cant believe all the posts I've read of yours and never picked up that you are from Fremont/Norwalk. I'm in orthopedic sales and am in the hospitals in Fremont ,Bellevue and Sandusky all the time. I'd like to help if I can w/ your lift off.Do you know Smitty from sandusky(he rebuilds and works on old vetts in that area)
no I don't...but if you are in Fremont all the time then you know Dr George Stepanic....he worked on my knees 3 times....my gal worked in the same hospital until we moved to Norwalk...she is out of the Fisher Titus Hospital now.....has her own practice, Ob/Gyn.....if you see Dr George, tell him Herb said hi...he knows me....

Well there are a few things that I would not do for a z06. :L

All you guys make me jealous!! My wife does not care one bit about cars let alone a vette. The upside is I get to drive alone and work in my garage by myself, the down side is I do love her and miss not doing things together.
you probably don't want to hear this.....but here goes anyways.....I came home one night from work and she looks at me and says "tomorrow is Corvette day".....I look at her and say "huh?" she tells me....you'll see......well the next day we went to a dealer in Bowling Green (ohio) and they only had one....automatic and not our color....so she says do you know any other places that might have a better selection...well we end up going over near where I work, they had about 40 of them on the lot....she found the convertible with a 6 speed.....next thing I know she says I will take it! And just like that we had our first Corvette.....I must have gone out to that garage 15 times that night checking it out!!!!

A couple of years later, we were in New Mexico for the hot air balloon fiesta and she is reading the newspaper about a classic car auction in town....we go check it out and there is a '64 365 hp/4 speed in my color RED. we come back the next day and low and behold, I bid on the car and next thing I know I am signing papers for it......

I won't go into how I got the '60......but it isn't far from that either......without her I might have never had a Corvette....with her we now have 4 of them!!!!

Firstgear your a lucky man!!!!;)

I sure do want the Z06. I have a fellow after my 62 and if a Z06 was available tomorow I would probably let the 62 go.

I really want one bad after seeing the show on speed vision

I think he was doing 135 in third gear.
my '03 Z06 red lines at just under 7000 and in third gear it does about 105.....have bumped the rev limiter a couple of times....I am smiling so much it is hard to pay attention and watch the RPMs...thank goodness they put that rev limiter in there....I would have bought several motors by now!!!

yes I know I am.....she insisted that we get the extra garage built...32X40 garage attached to the house on the side of the existing 2 car....then when we were at Carlisle this past summer, she saw the 4 post lifts and insisted that we get 2 of them (we were only planning on getting one, but after she saw them she said get two!!!)......

She is a keeper.....she spoils me for sure!!!!

I looks at c5 & C6 before I purchased my C1, "61. I love this car and wouldn't trade it. In bad weather I drive MB or Prius. :"Solid Axles"!!!!!!

I have been thinking about a Z06 but I'm frozen in time and space. I have a '60 roadster and a '66 coupe. My daily driver is a 2004 BMW 545i. My wife used to drive it but now is in our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee for convenience regarding our grand daughter. So I've thought of selling the '66 or selling the BMW to get a Z06. Selling the BMW would put the Z06 in the category of daily driver. I'm not sure I could put a car like that in a parking lot or drive it in the snow and salt. So I thought of selling the '66 because my wife loves the '60 as it's visually her favorite and she likes having a convertible to ride in. So the '60 is untouchable. Everytime I think seriously about pulling the plug on the '66 I just can't do it. I think what would have to happen is for someone to catch me at a weak moment and offer me an exhorbitant amount of money for the '66. This whole thread begs the question: How do you know when you have enough Vettes?

hmmmm.....for sure you never have enough.....I suppose when all the land that we have is filled with garages and filled with 4 post lifts....out of room......by the way we have almost 2 acres....

what bad weather in Hawaii? A little rain??????

I think I'l wait till they are a little cheaper...in five years a C1 will buy a 3 or 4 of them. Then maybe I'll..........Hmmm come to think of it......who'd even remember one if they saw it going down the road in 5 years, a C1 on the other hand...

Guess I'll just wait 40 years till they are as special as a C1 is now...except they will "never" be that special. In '61 they only made 10,000 or so C1's.....

Now if you talking trading a 2006 model for a nice C1....no brainer for me ...or any of the Barrett Jackson crowd....you could get that done in a Chevrolet heartbeat.

Well I have to be honest, a few days ago I was very interested in locating a ZO6 but after reading everyones response I have to say I've lost my desire for new one at this time.
BUT in a couple years "its mine"
Going to focus on getting the 67 running like it used to.I'm hoping just after my tripower rebuild, that will take care of it.If it doesnt,I'll be looking for some suggestions. Thanks everyone, Jim

PS, Hope I dont see a new Z this summer !!!
