REPORT FROM THE SUPPORT VEHICLE
WOW is right! One advantage running blocker in the Tahoe...I had one fantastic view of the whole caravan of vettes pulling into the passing lane and following them for the trip to BG. I should have had the camera! As said in another post it was a safe, sensible crowd who got there in one piece safely, what an enjoyable first time experience for me! Having the two way radios for communication is a must for these caravans and well worth the money. Wonderful to hear all made it home afterwards except for Lou who stayed a bit longer, look out Bowling Green!
The organizers did a fantastic job, it was obvious the extensive planning that went into the Cruisefest and we are all grateful for all their efforts. The tours were excellent, the choice of Baymont Hotel, the BBQ by Roscoe was great, the members..... the BEST! It was great to finally meet so many of the CAC family, they're great on line but even more fun in person. Yes it was a long drive for many but worth every mile. If you missed it please make the effort to attend the next one. You won't regret it!
Thank you everyone for your gracious hospitality. If 67Heaven will take passengers I'm definately on again for next year. Craig (Bossvette), a personnal thank you again to you and Courtney for opening your wonderful home to Bob and I Wednesday night and going to all that trouble to pave the driveway for '67

and letting us join in the thrill of the caravan with all of you. Tom thanks for showing us the "legendary" vette which has been witnessed as existing but we didn't take pictures:L and for keeping us in stitches with your stories.
Running support for '67 was fun. He's easy to pick out and with the height of the Tahoe I got a clear view for quite a distance which I sometimes needed! Easier to see certain "decaled cars" in the ditches or on the ramps too!Michigan highways!!!!! I thought Bob had a severe case of hiccups the way that he bounced around on that highway! With his suspension system it even looked uncomfortable and with no air conditioning!!!! When we got to BG I think he lost 10 lbs and was 3" shorter! BUT he did what he said he would and built a driver and drove it there and back and as you read on other posts the car performed fantastic, mechanically and with great gas mileage. The fuel pump issue is minor and will be corrected soon. A few cruising "wounds" which were not wanted but weren't unexpected but what a car! Bob will no doubt be supplying further details in posts.
Trying to keep up in the Tahoe was challenging at times especially after some sharp turns. I found my backside sliding out my seat and heading for the door a few times but the boys slowed down and waited for me to catch up. I still feel guilty that at Craigs' Bob got out of the '67 soaked from sweat and I jokingly said to Craig I had to put a coat on because it was too cold in the Tahoe and I didn't know how to change it from 60F. We enjoy bugging each other at the most opportune times!
All in all a wonderful, memorable, safe trip and thank you again to all you warmhearted members and to all the organizers! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
Have a safe trip home Lou. See you at Carlise!
