Thats the question that started the creation of corvette forums.Through my research I found that the upper dash was installed first during the assembly of the car so it is a pita to remove with out removing the lower dash pads.It can be done.First I would remove the pillar posts and then remove the screws that hold it to the lower dash pads and the center guage cluster .Now you can remove it but you may have to slightly bend it to get the corners to clear the windsheild pillars.Good luck.
The screws to the lower dash pads are the only screws. The front is held on by clips that slide on to a track. You will have to pull toward you while removing it to get it loose from the front.Did that make since ,because I think I just confused myself?
The 77 has one screw in the middle of the dash underneath attaching it to a bracket. Can't be missed if yours is the same. Otherwise my experience was the same as Paintdaddy described.
