Maybe your right but there are so many Torch Red vette's out there.
The Competition Yellow really stands out.
Last saturday night l went to a cook out by the Jersy Shore, and l parked behind two red Ferrari's and a Yellow Porsche. The Porsche really grabbed my soul.
l would really switch for a competition Yellow vette, 96 of course in the same condition as mine or close and maybe throw in a couple of grand if the car was right.
Alan
p.s. Is there a site that is devoted to trades. l would not go through a dealer only a private party. We could meet half way up to 2000miles.
I can understand wanting a C5 for their carrying capacity. The C5 cargo area in the back is cavernous compared to our C4s, and their highway ride is soooooo comfortable.
l guess you were a fly boy during WW11, l was stationed at Lackland AFB and then Amarillo AFB in the mid 60's. The closest that l came to flying was KP at a Bombardment Wing (SAC Base)
attached to Amarillo AFB. This when we started painting B-52's black. l believe they were G models with the drone in the tail.
Anyway getting back to vette's, l firmly believe that the C5's will hit the 20's by next Feb.
B17Crew comes from my love affair with World War II aircraft, especially the B17 Flying Fortress.
WWII was before my time, but, I have learned a lot from my uncle who was in the war, he’s in his eighties now.
As for C5 prices, I have seen some nice coupes in the mid to high 20’s. I’ve only seen a handful of Millennium Yellow cars for sale. Last one I saw was a 2000 for $34,000, can’t remember mileage, but the dealer was not placing a premium on Millennium Yellow. Most C4 Competition Yellow cars I have seen have had a bit of a markup due to color. I’m not sure how the yellow (35U) that was used from ‘86-’92 fares, markup wise.
Oh Kingman,
Okay, red is good.
But have you ever seen the Med. Quasar Blue Metallic?
I'll detail my '93 to a mirror finish and ain't nothin' on the road like it!!!
That Competiton Yellow you're hankering for-even the new Millineum Yellow on the C5s..., well it's just a bit too yellow. But that's me. I keep thinking...needs a French's Mustard decal!:L
Now if the Panama Yellow (as seen on the '58s), was brought back into production, you'd have something!!!!!
I seriously thought about buying a white C5 w/ creme leather interior and having it painted PY!!!
But if red trips your trigger-fire away!!
The color of your vehicle is kinda like Religion and Politics every one's got there own opinion, the bottom line is that you own a car that most only dream about thier whole lives, you own a CORVETTE...............and that my friend is all that matters!!!!
Mine came red of course but I do like the yellow, polo green (with tan leather) or quasar blue. I live up north where the Ferraris don't go and a bright red top-down sports car still gets lots of attention (from the cops too though, D'oh!)
Kingman,
I'm considering letting go of my '96 competition yellow LT1 coupe. Very nice! 62K, new Firehawks, K&N and all options. Let me know if you are interested.
