What is the correct procedure for torquing bolts. For example differential housing (Aluminum), clean and oil then tighten? Any special treatment?

Whats the best RTV to use for reassembly of the differential carrier/cover?

Thanks..

I would get the GM Grey' RTV sealer. I use it on intake manifolds and it works very well.

Personally I would put them on evenly with about 25 to 30 ft lbs. Clean the bolts with carb cleaner and put a little of the same sealer on the bolt threads.
