TPIS bigmouth vs. Accel Superram

At that point buy an LT1 car?
All a matter of doing the math.

And the matter of doing all that work! :L:L:L

Personally, I think you could build a bigger CID TPI and be extremely satisfied. That's the route I'm going. I'm not going with a MR or anything like that. I'm sticking with the TPI intake.

I don't know if they still have it on their site but a couple years ago TPIS had dyno number where they built an engine and dynod it with a TPI then installed a mini ram and it gained 125 hp. The TPI was designed for the 305 engine it is too small for a 350 and using it on anything bigger than a 350 redefines the term induction limited.:crazy
I have been running a mini ram for 5 years it is a great manifold.
People who have never run one keep posting that you don't have low end torque but I have 315 BFG-KD's on the back and with my foot off the clutch and the engine idling I can hit the gas and break the tires loose.
It idles at 850rpm and on the dyno It put 557 lbs of torque at the rear wheels at 2500rpm that is way more than a L98 can lay down at any rpm.
It made 917lbsRWT@5500 rpm
The mini ram is excellent manifold and the more you mod your engine the more the MR will excel over the others.

What you are saying is that if I can find an LT1 intake settup and install it on my 1990 L98 with a tune I can gain nearly 50 hp ? This sounds nearly unreasonalbe, and far to easy. If anyone has actually done this I would like to know just what is all involved. Such as hookups for the ECM etc.If this really does give that kind of results it could be very economical HP.

Provided you buy the LT1 intake from the website, and get a good tune, yes you should be getting fairly close to 300hp.

The '113 heads on the 90 are close to the LT1 in flow, but not quite, so you'll come in just short. I would expect about 40hp increase with the tune.

The LT engines have a fairly flat torque curve and you'll need gearing to get that 'feel' that youre used to.

mini ram

Putting a miniram or LT1 intake on an L98 basically makes it into an LT1 engine.

Heads are almost same between '113 and LT1, cam is nearly identical.

So you should expect about 300 crank hp.

you will lose out on that low end torque with the mini ram but will be able to make more ponies in the upper rpm ranges
