Replacing trail arm bushings and damaged the shells, cups, inserts, whatever they are called, on 76 vette. I cannot find the replacement parts. I ordered poly bushings didn't know I needed to use old ones for bushings... a lesson learned. need some info please.

It is not recommended to use polyurethane bushings in C2/3 trailing arms.

The 63-82 rear suspension geometry is such that the T-arms must rotate as well as move vertically. Urethane is very stiff and, as the arm moves up and down, it resists the necessary rotation and, at the ends of the suspension travel that tends to bind the suspension.

For T-arms you need to use either stock rubber, which is compliant enough to allow the arm to rotate or, for racing applications, change to spherical bearings.

As for the parts which were damaged, to my knowledge there is no source for those items, but others here on the CAC may know where they can be obtained. Another alternative would be to send the arms to one of the vendors who rebuilds them and let them fix your arms and install rubber bushings.
