Hello, all,

I am in the process of re-assembling the rear suspension on my '63 roadster. I am putting it back to stock (drum brakes); however, I have in my posession complete trailing arm assemblies off of a '65. My question to all of you eminently knowledgeable Corvette experts is this: Which parts (besides the drum brake components) are exclusive to the '63? The reason I am asking this is because the '63 assemblies don't look so good; if necessary, I was hoping to be able to utilize some of the '65 parts. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The spindle (axle) is different on drum brake v.s. disc brake cars. Not sure exactly what else, but I'm sure you'll get some replies!

The 63 trailing arms have a pad welded to the outside to be the bumper stop. Look at the outside of the frame rail behind and above the wheel. There will be a bumper outboard of the frame. On the 65, the bumper is under the frame, which means the pad on the trailing arm is in a different place.

In fact.....the 63 and 64 trailing arm is the bumper in itself. You could remove that pad wellded aside the top of the t-arm. Also there is a small bracket for the park break cable welded on the top third front of the t-arm. There is no other pad than that.

...and depending on what you have got....the t-arms have three holes at the top end which are used for the stabiliser link.
