Feel like left rear wheel wants to leave the car. Also getting some swerve on acceleration. I am concened that sometnbing in assembly is compromised.

Question is twofold. Anyone know where I can find good used or rebuilt trailing arm assemblies, or an established, reliable, honorable corvette mechanic in Denver area?

I can replace the trailing arm assemblies but do not have proper tools to rebuild the bearing/spindle assy myself.

Hey Wood88335th

Just an idea, have you checked the rear alignment (sorry if this is obvious, as dont know how long youve had the car). Reason for suggestion, when I landed my L81 it would do spectacular sideways action with moderate application of the loud peddle. Although this was fun, it soon became annoying. When I wheel aligned the car, the rear trailing arms were shimmed 11mm (1/2") toe out each side, and 2.5 degrees camber (Why????). I altered the shims around to get the correct toe and the eccentric strut bushes for camber, now its a pleasure to drive @ 1mm toe in, and 1 degree camber. Along with re-setting the front to the same specs, its like a totally different car (read: now handles). Also check for play in the rear bearings, and diff mounts, as this could steer the rear also.

Good Luck, :beer

I was in the same boat as you, could do the install myself, but not the bearing press on the spindle. There are several good - reputable shops selling rebuilt t-arm assemblys out there, or they will rebuild yours. I went with VanSteel they are well known and answered alot of questions over the phone for me. The whole assembly came back to me ready to mount on the car. It's been great ever since, I'm very pleased with their work.
