o goody i went out to the vette house and saw transfluid all
over the floor what do you all think happend
was to sick to look then by the way i havent driver the car for about 8 weeks thank you docmow

What happen depends where the leak is. Is it from the front / rear of the tranny, might be something as simple as a transmission line. Best you get under and have a look for the source, maybe we can suggest what might have caused the leak.
Good Luck

I hope you dont have what i have but DO make sure.. :)

Had that last year and it turned out a seal IN the transmission. Quite a expensive repair, dropping it, taking it apart and putting a $2.50 part in.. Btw, mine is still drip-dropping some drops. :eyerole Need to take back to a shop to have it looked at. Let us know what you find.. ;)

My was a worn speedo gear shaft. Leaked after 1 out of ten drives.

My guess is the O-ring seal on the Dip Stick Tube!! Very Common on Older GM Automatic Transmissions!!(Turbo400's,Turbo350's,Tubo200's and 700R4's) When the vehicle sets with out being started for any length of time (1-4 weeks!!)the fluid will slowly drain down out of the torque converter and raise the Fluid level up the dip stick tube and leak out the seal at the bottom of the tube at the transmission case!!:thumb:thumb:thumb

Cheap Fix!! About an Hour and a $0.50 O-Ring!! Or start and drive it once a week!!:thumb

Interesting. Mine has the same thing. Hasn't been started in a while blah blah blah. Haven't gotten under it yet either. It's a significant amount though as there was enough to actually run down my garage floor which I didn't think had any real elevation changes.
First year I've noticed this too... ;shrug

Ive got one to, mine looks like its coming from the shift shaft seal.

I hope this isn't a trend, now I am afraid to look under mine.

My daily ride has been leaking tranny fluid (the only benefit of snow in my driveway) and I was bumming that it was going to need a tranny, but it was an $85. repair for some hoses and clamps. Course it needs rear struts done, brakes and at some point the timing belt. I am not sure its worth it but on the other hand who wants a car payment?

went out to car house and looked closer it was power stering fluid
added some staterd her and let run and in her sexy voice she said take me on big boy ;) well she was evenbetter than i rember oh!oh! oh :Twist got to do this more offen

Dang!
Went out to the garage to take a look under the car and see the red stuff on the floor! The car hasn't been started in about 3 weeks but when I was starting it everyday there were no visible leaks. This sounds like the dipstick seal I am reading about here.

I seem to remember my old 71 Monte Carlo did the same thing years ago after sitting for a while.

Finally got around to checking mine this past weekend. It was leaking from the speedo cable where it connects to the screw-thingy that goes into the trans. I'm not overly concerned about it right now. I'll keep an eye on it when the car is officially out of winter storage.

screw-thingy that goes into the trans.

I guess that is one way of describing the part! :boogie:boogie:boogie

Thanks for the smile on my face, 'dre!
