The owners manual suggests that Dielectric Silicone Grease be used to to treat the weather strips. The manual instructs that a small amount we rubbed on the strips using a finger to work it in. I bought a small tube of the stuff and tried it. It is difficult to work in and takes some time. It also leaves some residue on the windows when the door is closed and I suspect will be somewhat of a magnet for dust. It does seem to get the job done, however, what other products are good to use?

weatherstrips

use any type of product with silicone in it.I have used armorall wipes and things like that.Dash protecting products with uv blockers etc.treating them with something is better than nothing at all.

Personally, I just wipe the door jambs and weatherstripping with a damp rag after I finish washing the rest of the car. Been doing this for years (as has my father, from whom I picked up the practice) on every vehicle I've owned, and the weatherstripping is just fine.

I am a fan of using Adams VRT (Vinyl, Rubber and Tire) treatment. High in UV and rubber protection. It won't leave that residue that you are talking about on the windows and makes the rubber look like new.

Thats good too tom!My outside rubbers around the targa top are looking a little rough this sw florida sun is a killer on everything rubber, paint etc.protect your baby!:w

Watch it with Armorall heard it deteritrates rubber and plastic after some time

I use the silicone grease and not a huge amount. About once a year in the spring or fall when it isn't so gooey
