I'm replacing all calipers, lines and hoses at the calipers, and the parking brakes. I have the brake lines, hoses, and calipers OFF. So all brake lines are OPEN. Now I was hoping to let gravity take it's course and slowly flush the old fluid out. I first used a turkey thingee to sucked all of the old fluid out of the master cylinder, and then filled it with fresh. But now that it's full again, I get NO fluid coming out of any of the open brake lines. After a day, I clamped the master cyl. cap back down and then pumped the brake pedal a few times. Some came out of the LR, very little out of the LF, and the other's none. What am I doing wrong, and what do I need to do to getherdone??
Thanks

. So all brake lines are OPEN.

There's part of your problem. This is equivalent to leaving a bleeder open while trying to pump bleed a system. The lines must be blocked before the pedal is released from the floor.

If your system is truly empty, gravity will never be enough to refill it from dry.

I'd install all the hardware and even pre-fill the calipers to save time, then use a pressure bleeder.

I think I understand what you are trying to say about a bleeder open and pump bleeding. But what about gravity flush?
1. When I took all calipers, brake lines and hoses off, the master cylinder was FULL. It would seem that the fluid would now flow out with all open..?? I even lowered the the jackstands on the rear another 2 inches thinking it would help. And no, I do not have the master cylinder cap on/sealed. LOL Someone told me if I would undo the lines at the MC and blow air thru them, it would force the remainig fluid in the lines out. ?? I may try that..

It sounds to me that you have to bleed the master cylinder before you can continue with the rest of the system.

Pressure bleeding is the way to go when bleeding a Corvette brake system.

The posts to this thread are somewhat confusing.

OP...did you drain the brake system dry before you filled the master cylinder?

Get a Motive Products pressure bleeder - it takes longer to take the wheels off than it does to bleed the brakes; makes it a ten-minute job, max. They also have handy vented plastic bleed bottles with tether wires to hold them in position.
