I took the B2K out to the local cruise night and amazingly, a turbo C3 pulls up & parked beside me :eek

The thing was nicely detailed (w/ a serious 70's flair) and had many custom touches like digital guages and a hatch that opened (an 82 only item)

On the drive home, the weather cooled quite a bit and I was able to "excercise" the twin turbos :eek Ran up though 4th gear, quite a bit of fun - 54hg's :D

Here are some pics from the cruise in:

Sweet! I was on vacation this week, missed the cruise-in you PM'd about. I like those Series 1's because of the Aurora, but Shelby always struck me as a bit of a shill (like "finding" those chasis and trying to sell them 30 years later as original Cobras, trying to extort an extra ~$40k from Series 1 buyers who paid in full only to wait years to get their car, etc).

How did the install of the turbo on that 70's car look? Was it pretty clean? Was the car pretty powerful?

Sorry I missed seeing your car, or hearing it... :(

I'd also have loved to hear that Series 1 rev through those Borlas and compare it to my CORSA's. :beer

Aurora - In one of the recent Autoweek magazines, Looks like 'ol Shel has decided to sell the remaining 250 "cars" (Series 1) as component vehicles - no engine is included.
Seems after he built 241, 255, or was it 260 cars :confused, he is now selling the remaining chassis w/ bodies after taking hold of the company after the group he sold it to went bankrupt :eek
By not includig the engines, he is not subject to emissions and other regulations on his vehicles.
Engine options include the 4.0 Aurora engine and a supercharged version as well, capable of zero-60 in 3.3 seconds by ''ol Shel's stopwatch ;)

Thought you would find this interesting...
Looks like 500 +/- cars will once again be the magic number for production on a capable American Supercar ;)

I wonder if that C3 was one of the ACI built Duntov Turbo Vettes.. or did the Duntov ACI vette never sell any...

Hey Chris, yeah I saw that on the Series 1 a few weeks ago. As much as I think it's cool it uses the Aurora V8, I think he really hosed people on the car. It had huge problems getting certified for sale, and the cost of the car spiraled up crazily. So I think it's a neat car in a sort of curious way, but it's not a car I dream about. :)
